Accepting the gift of travel expenses from AAPI LEAD for Mayor Kaohly Her's to attend the AAPI LEAD 2026 Summit from July 17, 2026-July 19, 2026 in Los Angeles, CA.

WHEREAS, AAPI LEAD facilitates meaningful participation of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the American democratic process, including serving in elected and appointed offices at all levels of government, in all jurisdictions, and from all political backgrounds; and
WHEREAS, AAPI LEAD is hosting a national convening July 17-19, 2026 in Los Angeles, CA titled ‘AAPI LEAD 2026 Summit’; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Her has been invited to attend and speak at the convening; and
WHEREAS, AAPI LEAD has offered to cover the travel expenses and lodging for Mayor Her and all other speakers to attend; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul finds that attendance at this convening is beneficial to the City as it creates opportunity for public officials, civic leaders, and changemakers from across the country to engage in leadership development, develop expertise, obtain practical knowledge, share successes, develop a professional network, and participated in conversations that will shape communities and impact the future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift of travel expenses which will not exceed $2,000.00 for Mayor Her to attend the convening and thanks AAPI LEAD for their generosity.
