Purpose of Appeal
RE: Deficiency List Item #1: The window in question is part of the house as it was originally built. No modifications have been made in any way. We feel that since this how the home was built that it should be left this way. We have complied with everything that was asked of the fire inspector, but we cannot afford to take down a wall and have it re-built to install new windows. When we purchased this house, a disclosure was not made that the windows do not comply with the Fire Certificate of Occupancy Codes; we feel that there should be a law to require such disclosures if this is going to be an issue. Furthermore, this is our home, it is not a rental! My family lives in that home and that includes my daughter, mother and father and myself a few months of the year. Since this is my house, my family lives there, and the windows are part of the house as it was originally built, I hope that you will allow us to keep the windows as they are. Thank you!
