Authorizing the Saint Paul Fire Department to accept a grant of $50,000.00 from the Otto Bremer Foundation.

WHEREAS, the Otto Bremer Foundation has offered a grant of $50,000.00 to the Saint Paul Fire Department in support of the 2011 Saint Paul EMS Academy, and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department would like to accept this grant from the Otto Bremer Foundation, and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of the Saint Paul EMS Academy is to give youth participants that live in Ramsey County the opportunity to prepare for careers in fire and/or EMS service, and
NOW THEREFORE, IT BE RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council, on behalf of the citizens of Saint Paul, accept this grant of $50,000.00 from the Otto Bremer Foundation and extend their sincere appreciation to this organization.
