Accepting funds and amending the Department of Safety & Inspections operating budget for the administration of Legislative Code Chapter 193.
Body
WHEREAS, the 2026 Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) adopted budget for the Housing Trust Fund included a plan to use prior year project balances and $380,000 budget contingency for tenant protections administration; and
WHEREAS, the 2026 HRA Housing Trust Fund is in the HRA Development Capital Fund; and
WHEREAS, in RES 26-156, the Board of Commissioners of the HRA of the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota amended the 2026 HRA Development Capital Projects Fund budget; and
WHEREAS, by this Resolution, the Council authorizes acceptance of HRA Housing Trust Fund dollars and amends the 2026 City Operating Budget in support of tenant protections administration; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Saint Paul City Charter, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $380,000 in excess of those estimated in the Operating Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED after appropriate examination and due consideration, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul:
1. That upon the recommendation of the Mayor that the $380,000 is available for appropriation in the Operating Budget, the City Council hereby authorizes and approves said budget, as heretofore adopted by the City Council, to be amended as outlined in the attached financial analysis. (See attachment.)
2. That the City Council hereby authorizes and approves City staff take all actions necessary to carry out the activities authorized by this Resolution, including finalizing all documents and agreements necessary to effectuate the activities to be undertaken by this Resolution, subject to approval by the City Attorney’s Office.
