Authorizing the Fire Department to pay for costs incurred to host a Fire Prevention Week Open House on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Fire Station 22.

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department will be hosting a Fire Prevention Week Open House on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Fire Station 22; and
WHEREAS, the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) promotes Fire Prevention Week "Not Every Hero Wears a Cape. Plan and Practice Your Escape" to make the public aware of public safety education and fire prevention; and
WHEREAS, the expenditure of money will be used to purchase food and supplies and serves the public purpose by encouraging the community to meet with the firefighters and promote fire prevention and safety education; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes the expenditure of funds not to exceed $500 for the Fire Department Open House.
