Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept a donation of $2,500 from the Minnesota United FC (MNUFC) to purchase materials for a volunteer participation event for MNUFC players, employees, and friends, on Saturday, September 21, 2019.
Body
WHEREAS, Minnesota United FC (MNUFC) is committed to supporting non-profit organizations and programs in Minnesota that have a positive impact on our community; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation’s natural resources section was asked to partner with MNUFC to provide an outdoor experience where MNUFC players, employees, and their families and friends can volunteer; and
WHEREAS, the MNUFC volunteer participation event is scheduled for Saturday, September 21, 2019 and Parks and Recreation will host approximately 250 interested individuals associated with MNUFC to work on projects selected by the natural resources group; and
WHEREAS, MNUFC has offered to donate $2,500 to the Department of Parks and Recreation natural resources volunteer program to purchase materials and supplies to be used at the volunteer opportunity; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accepts the gift in the amount of $2,500, appropriates it for the intended uses, and thanks the Minnesota United FC for its generous donation.
