Authorizing City Council to use fund balance unspent in 2019, and to increase the 2020 Financing and Spending budgets in City Council Special Projects budget, to a total of $35,854.60 to cover City Council Inaugural ceremony and related events expenses.
Body
WHEREAS, the City held a City Council Inauguration Ceremony and reception, open to the public, on Tuesday, January 7, 2020; and
WHEREAS, the City authorized the appropriate City designees to enter into a fundraising contract to solicit donations and establish the budget for the purpose of holding City Council Inaugural events in RES PH 19-234; and
WHEREAS, the City established the total City Council Inauguration Ceremony budget in the amount of $39,885 in City Council Special Projects; and
WHEREAS, available resources in 2019 totaled $32,885 and expenditures in 2019 totaled $4,030.40; and
WHEREAS, the City would like to utilize unspent fund balance from 2019 City Council Special Projects to cover 2020 expenses related to the City Council Inauguration Ceremony; and
WHEREAS the City expects to receive an additional $7,000 in outside contributions in 2020 to fund the City Council Inaugural events; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation total revenues in excess of those estimated in the budget, funds of $35,854.60 in City Council Special Projects; now
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor, that $35,854.60 is available for appropriation in the 2020 City Council Special Projects budget, and said budget, as heretofore adopted by the Council is hereby further amended as indicated in the attached fiscal analysis form.
