Making finding on the appealed substantial abatement ordered for 1079 ARKWRIGHT STREET in Council File RLH RR 25-31. (Amend to grant additional 180 days)

WHEREAS, the City Council adopted RLH RR 25-31 on November 19, 2025 which granted 180 days to repair the structure, correct all of the deficiencies listed in the Order to Abate Nuisance Building and the Code Compliance Report at 1079 Arkwright Street; and
WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer reviewed this case on May 26, 2026 to determine if the owner and/or responsible party abated the nuisance conditions and found these conditions not abated and the Building Official found the rehabilitation to be 10% complete; and
WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council grant an additional 180 days as if the following conditions are met: 1) post an additional $5,000 performance deposit; 2) provide and receive approval on an updated work plan and financing to execute the project; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council adopts the finding of the legislative hearing officer that the nuisance condition is not abated, but will grant an additional 180 days and continue the first $5,000 performance deposit forthcoming, pending June 9, 2026 Legislative Hearing.
