Authorizing the Department of Public Works to participate as a subrecipient in an application for grant funding from the Department of Energy (DOE) Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) Joint Office of Energy and Transportation Ride and Drive Electric program for funding to examine the cost and benefits of EV carshare, as well as the most effective business and economic models for EV carshare viability in communities outside the Twin Cities Metro.

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul (“City”) is a sub-awardee to the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI), in partnership with HOURCAR and East Metro Strong; and

WHEREAS, funding received through this funding will allow for examination of project successes and lessons learned to-date, and creation of deliverables that will aid in information sharing about the Evie Carshare program, to support continued growth of the program; and

WHEREAS, there is not a local match requirement for sub-awardees, and the City’s subaward would be $62,500 over 24 months beginning in 2024; now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul authorizes submission of the project application, and acceptance of award of funds through the DOE’s BIL Joint Office of Energy and Transportation Ride and Drive Electric.
