Amending the financing and spending plans in the Police Department in the amount of $23,530 for The Minnesota Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force grant funds.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul Police Department (SPPD) entered into the Minnesota Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, Multi-Agency Law Enforcement Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) with the State of Minnesota, acting through its Commissioner of Public Safety, Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) (RES 19-484); and

 

WHEREAS, the JPA is for the multi-agency task force intended to investigate and prosecute crimes committed against children and the criminal exploitation of children that is committed and/or facilitated by or through the use of computers, and to disrupt and dismantle organizations engaging in such activity; and

 

WHEREAS, the 2019 financing and spending plan needs to be amended and activity budget added for these funds; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $23,530 in excess of those estimated in the 2019 budget and recommends the following changes; and

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that council accepts this grant award and authorizes the City of Saint Paul to enter into an agreement for this grant award and approves these changes to the 2019 budget.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Council authorizes these changes to the 2019 grant fund budget.
