Authorizing the City, on behalf of the Public Works Department, to accept a donation of one (1) Big Belly-brand garbage and recycling collection station, with a value of $6,951.60, from the Highland District Council to support public garbage and recycling operations.

WHEREAS, the Department, through providing public garbage and recycling bins and collections, works to ensure the City’s public spaces are clean and free of litter; and
WHEREAS, the Highland District Council wishes to donate a Big Belly-brand garbage and recycling collection station, with a value of $6,951.60, which will be installed within the Highland district of the City; and
WHEREAS, said collection station will be used to provide an additional disposal option for Highland residents; and
WHEREAS, the City, on behalf of the Department, wishes to accept said donated garbage and recycling collection station to increase public space disposal options and reduce litter; and
WHEREAS, the Department will install, maintain, and collect from the collection station; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this donation has a public purpose; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby authorizes the Department to accept the garbage and recycling collection station, with a value of $6,951.60, from the Highland District Council to support Public Works public space garbage and recycling, and thanks them for their generous donation.
