Amending the financing and spending budget plans in the Department of Parks and Recreation by adding a $30,000 donation from the Sisters of the Good Shepherd via the Trust for Public Land towards implementation of courtyard features at Frogtown Park and Farm.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Department of Parks and Recreation recently acquired 12.7 acres of land at 946 Minnehaha Avenue; and
WHEREAS, land acquired was once home to the Sisters of the Good Shepherd; and
WHEREAS, the site is currently being developed as a park and farm; and
WHEREAS, a group of former Sisters wanted to honor their history on the site by contributing to the development of the site; and
WHEREAS, the former Sisters have raised $30,000 towards the implementation of courtyard features on the site; and
WHEREAS, the former Sisters have asked the Trust for Public Land to act as their fiscal agent during their fundraising effort; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $30,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2014 Capital Improvement Budget; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and the advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $30,000 is available for appropriation in the 2014 Capital Improvement Budget, and said 2014 budget, as heretofore adopted by the Council, is here by further amended as attached.
