Title

Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Saint Paul Public Library Agency, and Human Resources to apply for funds, in an amount up to $500,000 with no match required of the City, from the Minnesota Office of Restorative Practices for the Restorative Practices Initiatives Grant Program to imbed restorative practices into internal and external policies and operations throughout Saint Paul.

Body

 

WHEREAS, the Minnesota Office of Restorative Practices has published a Notice of Funding Availability for grants of up to $500,000 to fund The Restorative Practices Initiative Grant Program; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Saint Paul Public Library Agency, and Human Resources have been identified as eligible to receive funds; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Public Library Agency, and the Human Resources wish to submit grant applications for all said projects and programs; and

 

WHEREAS, there is no match required of these funds by the City and other supporting agencies; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there is a public purpose in using restorative practices within the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Saint Paul Public Library Agency, and Human Resources; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that Saint Paul City Council authorizes the appropriate City officials to apply for the competitive Restorative Practices Initiatives Grant.
