Proclaiming Friday, June 10, 2011 as Marjorie Jo Ann Ebensteiner Day.

WHEREAS, through great misfortune, Marjorie Jo Ann Sommers-Ebensteiner was not blessed to have been born an East Sider - but had the good sense and good fortune to later relocate here, and;
WHEREAS, Marj has worked tirelessly and become known as a very willing contributor, constantly demonstrating her love for her adopted community by serving as a member of the District 2 Community Council, a member of the Saint Paul Sales Tax And Revitalization(STAR) Board where she has become the longest serving member and a star in her own right, and volunteer boards, task forces, commissions, and committees too numerous to count, and;
WHEREAS, Marj has further demonstrated her commitment to the East Side by having served as an elected official to the Ramsey Conservation District Board of Supervisors of which she also served as Chair, and;
WHEREAS, Marj has worked for the State of Minnesota for 34 years, and;
WHEREAS, on more than one occasion Marj has been recognized for her outstanding skill and dedication by receiving the "Above and Beyond" award, an employee recognition award given by the MNdot Commissioner, and;
WHEREAS, Marj has now officially retired from her career, but will always remain a public servant, and;
WHEREAS, with her newfound freedom from time constraints, Marj's friends, cohorts, cronies, and minion expect to see her ever more than ever working for the betterment of the community, now
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council does hereby proclaim Friday, June 10, 2011 be forever known in the great city of Saint Paul as Marjorie Jo Ann Ebensteiner Day.
