TITLE

Authorizing the Department of Emergency Management to apply for grant funds from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security through its Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

BODY-

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Department of Emergency Management is requesting authorization to apply for the 2026 Port Security Grant Program funds from FEMA; and

 

WHEREAS, the Port Security Grant Program provides funds to help protect critical port infrastructure from terrorism, enhance maritime domain awareness, improve port-wide maritime security risk management, and maintain or reestablish maritime security mitigation protocols that support port recovery and resilience capabilities; and

 

WHEREAS, the amount of the funding has not yet been established and there is a twenty five percent (25%) match requirement on the awarded amount; and

 

WHEREAS, the Grants Division of the Office of Financial Services has reviewed and approved the Intent to Apply request; and

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, authorizes the Department of Emergency Management to apply for a grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security through its Federal Emergency Management Agency.
