Approving the Mayor’s appointment of Brian Jastram to a two-year term on the Lower Mississippi River Watershed Management Organization.
Body
WHEREAS, The Lower Mississippi River Watershed Management Organization was formed in response to the requirements of the Metropolitan Surface Water Management Act (“Chapter 509,” now recodified to Minnesota Statutes 103B); and
WHEREAS, the Act required, among other things, the preparation of watershed management plans in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Metropolitan area; and
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources, which has final approval authority for WMO plans, formally approved the LMRWMO Watershed Management Plan on July 26, 1989 and a joint powers agreement was executed on October 25, 1985, which established and empowered the Lower Mississippi River Watershed Management Organization; and
WHEREAS, Lower Mississippi River Watershed Management Organization is operated by a Board of Managers appointed from each city in the Watershed Management Organization; and
WHEREAS, Brian Jastram has reapplied for appointment as an alternate member of the board of the Lower Mississippi River Watershed Management Organization and is recommended for appointment by Saint Paul Public Works staff; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Kaohly Her wishes to reappoint Brian Jastram to the Lower Mississippi River Watershed Management Organization; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED that the Saint Paul City Council approves the reappointment of Brian Jastram to a two-year term on the Lower Mississippi River Watershed Management Organization ending June 30, 2028.
