Accepting the gift of airfare, lodging, registration, and meals from the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) for Firefighter Sarah Reasoner to present at two sessions at the FDIC conference.

WHEREAS, the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) will be paying for the airfare, lodging, registration, and meals for Firefighter Sarah Reasoner to present at the annual FDIC conference in Indianapolis, IN April 20-25, 2026; and
WHEREAS, Firefighter Sarah Reasoner will be presenting on the Twin Cities Female Firefighter Group (TCF3) which is a group of women in the fire service using physical fitness as a tool to reach women in the community looking to become firefighters; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds participation in this conference beneficial to the City by allowing the Fire Department to share our program with other fire department in the hopes of encouraging others to look at how they are recruiting women by focusing on the physical fitness and front-loading the pathway of a potential candidate, this program can help departments secure female candidates who are more prepared physically and mentally than in the past; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift of the cost the travel expenses and thanks the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) for their generous gift.
