Approving the Mayor’s appointment of Sheri Riemers to a two-year term on the Workforce Innovation Board.
Body
WHEREAS, local workforce development boards are required entities under the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act to provide oversight for the public workforce system; and
WHEREAS, The Workforce Innovation Board is made up of thirty-three (33) members representing Business, Community-Based Organizations, One-Stop Workforce Center Partners, Labor, Economic Development, Education, and Elected Officials; and
WHEREAS, Sheri Riemers of Ain Dah Yung has applied for appointment to the Workforce Innovation Board as a representative from a community-based organization that provides workforce training programming, and
WHEREAS, Sheri Riemers has been recommended by the Workforce Innovation Board Membership Committee and Executive Committee for appointment to the Workforce Innovation Board, and
WHEREAS, Mayor Carter wishes to appoint Sheri Riemers to the Workforce Innovation Board to a two-year term ending on March 31, 2021; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council consents to the appointment of Sheri Reimers to the Workforce Innovation Board to a two-year and ending on March 31, 2021.
