Approving the modification of the 2017 Neighborhood STAR Program Funds for the Union Gospel Mission.
Body
WHEREAS, on July 19, 2017. Resolution #17-1005 awarded a Neighborhood STAR Program grant of $45,000 to the Union Gospel Mission for roof renovations; and
WHEREAS, on March 14, 2018, the Union Gospel Mission returned to the Neighborhood STAR Board to request the use of their 2017 STAR award be changed to upgrading bathrooms at the shelter; and,
WHEREAS, Neighborhood STAR Board Members recommended the change of use as requested; and
WHEREAS, as this project is of substantial community significance, it is the intent of the Mayor and the Saint Paul City Council to adjust the scope of the 2017 Neighborhood STAR Program award to the Union Gospel Mission; and,
RESOLVED, upon the recommendation of the Mayor, the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby authorizes and directs the appropriate City officials to execute the necessary grant documents to implement this Resolution, subject to approval by the City Attorney; and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, staff of the Department of Planning and Economic Development are further authorized and directed to proceed with all other actions necessary to implement this Resolution.
