Approving MN GreenCorps member applications and authorizing the necessary agreements.
Body
WHEREAS, The Mayor’s Office has applied to host an AmeriCorps member from the Minnesota GreenCorps, a program of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA), for the 2022-2023 program year, and the position will be focused on assisting with education and outreach for the planned City Climate Action Dashboard, Energize Saint Paul building energy efficiency efforts, and EV Spot Network/Evie Carshare program; and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Parks and Recreation has applied to host an AmeriCorps member from the Minnesota GreenCorps program for the 2022-23 program year, and the position will be focused on reviewing and making recommendations regarding City of Saint Paul systems and policies dealing with community gardens, with an eye toward making it easier to establish community gardens in Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, if the MPCA selects the City of Saint Paul for one or more of these positions, the City of Saint Paul is committed to implementing the proposed project(s) as described in the host site application, and in accordance with the pre-scoped position description; and
WHEREAS, the MPCA requires that the City of Saint Paul enter into a host site agreement with the MPCA that identifies the terms, conditions, roles and responsibilities; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Saint Paul City Council:
1. that the City Council hereby authorizes and approves entering into host site agreements, or any other necessary agreements, with the MPCA to carry out the member activities specified therein; and
2. that the City Council hereby authorizes and approves the appropriate City Officials to execute the host site agreements, or any other necessary agreements, on behalf of the City to carry out this Resolution; and
