Reappointing Luz María Frias as Director of the Department of Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity.

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 183.19 subdivision 8 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code, the Saint Paul Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity commission conducted an assessment of the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Department Director's performance in conjunction with the expiration of her three year term; and,
WHEREAS, as a result of this assessment, the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission, in a letter dated October 19, 2011, recommended to Mayor Christopher B. Coleman that Luz María Frias be reappointed as Director of the Department of Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 11.01 of the Saint Paul Administrative code, Mayor Christopher B. Coleman has notified the Saint Paul City Council that he has accepted the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission's recommendation and plans to reappoint Luz María Frias to serve an additional three (3) year term as Director of the Department of Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOVLED, that the Saint Paul City Council joins the Mayor in reappointing Luz María Frias as the Director of the Department of Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity for an additional three (3) year term.
