At last week's meeting, the Council promised to move with urgency to update and strengthen Saint Paul's separation ordinance. I urge the Council to keep that promise and take whatever steps are available to update the ordinance quickly. ICE is here now, and the people of Saint Paul need expedited action from the Council now.

Governor Walz and City Council Members, I firmly believe thay Agenda #9 and #20 go hand in hand. The urgency to p*** an eviction moratorium to help our community in their homes without eviction during this horrible time in which so many are afraid to leave and attend work. This is to no fault of their own and to punish them further with possible evictions is disheartening. Right now they need some sense of security and the four walls they reside is just that. If we can do at minimum, keep them safe there, we owe them that. In terms if the federal immigration operations, I know you are all doing your best, I believe in our state, I understand these again are unprecedented times and we may be yet again be the pawn in some evil game or the playbook that changes it all. We have that choice to make. It is hard to hear press conferences but little action, the words are becoming less strong.
