THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
SECTION 1
That the Saint Paul Code of Ordinances, Appendix C (C.F. No. 06-596) shall be amended as follows:
Section 1. Grant of franchise.
Northern States Power Company, a corporation organized under the laws of the state, hereinafter designated as "company," being a public service corporation providing electric service for all purposes within the City of Saint Paul, hereinafter designated as "city," under a franchise granted under Ordinance No. 96-417, which expires on August 30, 2006, is, together with its successors and assigns, hereby granted a franchise in accordance with the terms and conditions of this ordinance to use the streets and other public property located in the city for such purpose for a period covering August 31, 2006, up to August 30December 31, 2026, as further described in Section 13 herein. The term "this ordinance" shall refer to the ordinance being adopted herewith.
Section 2. Notwithstanding any terms in this Franchise to the contrary, the parties have agreed to extend the term of the Franchise through December 31, 2026. The Franchise will remain in full force and effect and the parties shall continue to perform their obligations under the Franchise.
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty (30) days following its passage, approval and publication.
