Authorizing the Police Department to accept a grant totaling $5,200 from the Saint Paul Police Foundation.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation was formed in 2005 to help the Saint Paul Police Department (SPPD) in many ways including insuring that public safety for our citizens remains the number one priority for our city; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation board of directors has approved the granting/donation a total of $5,200; and
WHEREAS, the grants will fund $600 for the support of the Saint Paul and Ramsey County Domestic Violence Intervention Project to replace flags on Wabasha Street and $4,600 for the Police Reserves, Police Band, Police Historical Society, Mounted Patrol and Motor Unit which provided hundreds of hours of volunteer support for the Holiday Lights event, and
WHEREAS, the SPPD would like to accept the donation for which the public purpose is for community engagement and public safety; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this generous donation and extend its sincere thanks to the Saint Paul Police Foundation.
