Title

Amending the financing and spending plans in the Fire Department in the amount of $30,000 for a grant from the State of Minnesota through the Department of Labor and Industry to support staffing for the apprenticeship program.

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul (the "City"), by and through the Fire Department received a grant from the State of Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (the "State") of $30,000 to support staffing for the apprenticeship program pursuant to a Grant Contract Agreement between the State and City (the "Agreement"), a form of which is attached hereto; and

 

WHEREAS, the Fire Department received approval to apply for this grant on RES 26-580; and

 

WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the funding received; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $30,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2026 budget; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends the following changes be made to the 2026 budget:

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accepts this grant and hereby approves the changes in the 2026 budget referenced in this resolution, and furthermore authorizes the appropriate officials to execute the Agreement.
