Authorizing Public Works to set the 2027 City Recycling Service Fees and to apply for $829,109 in 2027 SCORE grant funds from Ramsey County to support the curbside recycling program. (to be laid over to December 2, 2026)
Body
WHEREAS, to continue service in 2027 for weekly collection of recyclables from residences and public space recycling containers, the City Recycling Service Fee in 2027 shall be set at $181.39 per unit in residential buildings with one (1) to four (4) units, and $90.76 per unit in residential buildings with five (5) or more units, for support of collection programs; and
WHEREAS, the request of the SCORE grant funds from Ramsey County and setting the recycling service fees for 2027 will allow the City to continue the residential recycling collection program and waste diversion activities through 2027; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby adopt the 2027 City Recycling Service Fees as referenced above; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proper City officials are hereby authorized to apply for, and if approved accept 2027 SCORE grant funds from Ramsey County in the amount of $829,109, in an amount to be set by Ramsey County, for support of the Citywide recycling collection programs.
