Establishing the priority projects for the 2019 Parks and Recreation Department Pre-Project Design Preparation Budget in the General Fund in the amount of $100,000.
Body
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department has worked with the Saint Paul City Council to identify the following projects as priorities for use of the 2019 Parks and Recreation Pre-Design budget; and
WHEREAS, the Pre-Design budget was originally established to allow Parks and Recreation Design and Construction staff to work on city priorities that didn't have established capital or design budgets; and
WHEREAS, the Pre-Design budget was originally established in the 2018 Parks and Recreation adopted budget in the amount of $100,000, and was continued as part of the 2019 Parks and Recreation adopted budget; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department was asked by the City Council to establish and publicize the projects being funded with this budget; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department is planning to use the existing budget of $100,000 in the following Pre-Design Projects:
Highland 9 Visioning (Ward 3) - $20,000
Complete a preliminary feasibility study exploring conversion of Highland 9 Golf Course to an athletic facility in Saint Paul. Additional community meeting requesting along with final report with recommended actions. Final deliverable is a preliminary concept plan presented to the community.
Tasks to be completed:
· Community Meeting - Summary of comments and present recommended concept plan (August 2019)
· Final Report - Summarize work and outline next steps (October 2019)

Play Area Predesign/Survey (Dunning Play Area, Hamline Park and Dayton’s Bluff) - $30,000
