Authorizing the Police Department to accept a donation from the Nestle Purina PetCare Company through the K-9 Foundation.

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police K-9 Foundation is a tax-exempt nonprofit corporation organized exclusively for educational and charitable purposes to provide financial support for the Saint Paul Police Canine Unit; and
WHEREAS, the foundation has received a donation from the Nestle Purina PetCare Company to provide an annual supply of Purina Dog Food to the Saint Paul Police Canine Unit; and
WHEREAS, the estimated value of this donation is $16,000; and
WHEREAS, the SPPD would like to accept the donation through the St. Paul Police K-9 Foundation for which the public purpose is for public safety; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this generous donation and extend its sincere thanks to the Saint Paul Police K-9 Foundation and Nestle Purina PetCare Company.
