Amending the budget in the Police Department by adding $125,000.00 for a Financing and Spending Plan for a grant received from the State of Minnesota Department of Public Safety for the Ramsey County Violent Crime Enforcement Team (VCET).
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul Police (SPPD), entered into the attached Joint Powers Second amendment agreement with other local law enforcement agencies for participation in the East Metro Narcotics task force NKA the Ramsey County Violent Crime Enforcement Team (VCET); and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Police Department was awarded a grant of $125,000 by the VCET through the State of Minnesota Department of Public Safety Office of Justice Programs to be used for personnel, travel, office supplies, and other miscellaneous costs ; and
WHEREAS, a 2010 financing and spending plan needs to be established for these funds; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $125,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2010 budget and the Mayor recommends
the following addition is made to the 2010 budget:
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Saint Paul City Council accepts this grant and approves these changes to the 2010 budget.
