Designating targeted communities that meet the census tract criteria outlined in Minn Stat. 469.201, subd. 10 and 469.202.
Body
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Legislature recently amended Minn. Stat. §469.201, subd.10 and 469.202 to rename targeted neighborhoods to targeted communities, and to change the eligibility requirements for targeted communities; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul desires to make findings in accordance with Minn. Stat. §469.201, subd. 10 and 469.202 so as to designate certain census tracts as meeting the criteria of targeted communities;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby finds that the following census tracts meet the eligibility requirements for targeted communities within the meaning of Minn. Stat. §469.202, subd. 2, namely: 27123030602, 27123030800, 27123030900, 27123031000, 27123031100, 27123031300, 27123031400, 27123031500, 27123031600, 27123031801, 27123031802, 27123032500, 27123032600, 27123034500, 27123037100, and 27123037200, and are hereby designated as targeted communities within the meaning of Minn. Stat. §469.202, subd. 2 and 469.201, subd.10; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the facts supporting such findings are set forth in the document entitled "Census Tracts that meet the criteria of Minn. Stat 469.202 subd. 2" which is attached to and made a part of this Resolution; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that pursuant to Minn Stat §469.202, subd. 3 the City Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby add to the area herein designated as targeted communities an additional area extending up to four contiguous city blocks in all directions from the designated targeted communities as shown on the map entitled "Targeted Communities Designation" which is attached to and made a part of this Resolution.
