Accepting an Invest Health Grant from The Reinvestment Fund and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

WHEREAS, The Reinvestment Fund and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation have selected the City of Saint Paul as one of 50 Invest Health cities and awarded the City $60,000 to work with a team of community leaders to transform how they work together to drive better health outcomes in lower income communities; and
WHEREAS, the team that includes City of Saint Paul Innovation Specialist Catherine Penkert, Dayton's Bluff Community Council Executive Director Deanna Abbott-Foster, HealthEast's System Director for Neighborhood Integration Diane Tran, Latino Economic Development Center Vice President Mario Hernandez and Hmong American Farmers Association Executive Director Pakou Hang will attend national convenings over the next 18 months where they will work with teams across the country to develop a plan for Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, some grant funds, beyond those designated for travel and participation in the convenings, may be used to implement the plan as it is developed; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon the recommendation of the Mayor, accepts the Invest Health grant from The Reinvestment Fund and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and hereby approves changes to the 2016 budget as defined in the attached financial analysis.
