Accepting reimbursement from the U. S Department of Energy for air and ground transportation, and accepting the gift of conference registration and lodging from the National League of Cities, for Anne Hunt to attend the National League of Cities Conference in Denver, Colorado, December 1-3, 2010.

WHEREAS, the National League of Cities is hosting a conference in Denver, Colorado on December 1-3, 2010, and
WHEREAS, Anne Hunt, Mayor Chris Coleman's Office and Sustainability Director for the City of Saint Paul, has been invited to speak about the City of Saint Paul's Solar America Cities program on December 2, 2010; and
WHEREAS, the National League of Cities has offered to provide conference registration and two nights lodging, for Anne Hunt to attend said event; and
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Energy has agreed to reimburse the City for the air transportation and ground transportation from the Solar America Cities Grant, and
WHEREAS, Anne Hunt's attendance at this will serve a public purpose in allowing her to meet with other people in her field to discuss policies and procedures around enhancing sustainability; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council on behalf of the citizens of Saint Paul, accepts the gift of conference registration, lodging, travel, and ground transportation for the National League of Cities meeting and appropriates it to the intended use for Anne Hunt to attend the conference, and thanks the National League of Cities and the Department of Energy for their generous gifts.
