Setting fine amounts for violations of Legislative Code section 161 pertaining to parking restrictions during a continuous winter parking ban.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council has amended Chapter 161 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code to reflect a new violation for parking a vehicle on a restricted side of the street in violation of a continuous winter parking ban declaration as codified per Legislative Code Section 161.02(b); and
WHEREAS, the City's regulation of parking of vehicles during a continuous winter parking ban is substantially similar to its regulation of parking during snow emergencies as newly codified per Legislative Code Section 161.032(a), which has an established fine of $40;
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council has amended Chapter 161 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code and has renumbered prohibitions previously set forth in Section 161.032 pertaining to parking of vehicles during snow emergencies, and added a prohibition for parking during a continuous winter parking ban declared by the director of public works; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council requests the Ramsey County District Court to amend the City of Saint Paul's Fine Schedule to reflect the following changes:
Renumbered Violation
161.032 (a) Parking on snow emergency routes during a declared snow emergency, for which the fine shall be $40 (forty dollars)
New Violation
161.032(b) Parking on prohibited non-snow emergency plow routes during a declared continuous winter parking ban,for which the fine shall be $40 (forty dollars)
