Preliminary Order setting the date of Public Hearing for May 16, 2012 to consider approval for reconstructing Ruth Street between Upper Afton Road and Burns Avenue. (File No. 19106 Assessment No. 125208)

In the Matter of approving the construction of street improvements along Ruth Street between Upper Afton Road and Burns Avenue by reconstructing the street with a new, thicker section of bituminous pavement; constructing ADA compliant pedestrian ramps at the intersections; installing new storm sewer catch basins; and new concrete driveway aprons. The curbs will predominately remain in place, spot repairs to curbs and sidewalks will also be done as part of this project. Existing lantern style street lighting will remain in place. The designated bike lane striping will be re-installed. Also, the appropriate sanitary sewer repairs will be made, and storm and sanitary connections will be made at the request of the affected property owners.
The Council of the City of Saint Paul, having received the report of the Mayor upon the above improvement and having considered said report, hereby resolves:
1. That the said report and the same is hereby approved with no alternatives, and that the estimated cost thereof is $1,282,000, financed by Municipal State Aid and Assessments.
2. That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the 16th day of May, 2012, at 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall and Court House Building in the City of Saint Paul.
3. That notice of said public hearing be given to the persons and in the manner provided by the Charter, stating the time and place of hearing, the nature of the improvement and the total cost thereof as estimated.
