Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to apply for and, if awarded, accept a grant in the amount of up to $1400 offered by the Capital Region Watershed District for a Rain Barrel Building Workshop.
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, through its Recreation for Adults 50+ program, offer many events, classes or activities during the year; and
WHEREAS, a Rain Barrel Workshop would add to the variety of programs offered to Adults 50+, and
WHEREAS, a Rain Barrel Workshop may draw new participants into the program for Adults 50+, and
WHEREAS, many of the participants are senior citizens and retirees on limited income and the Department of Parks and Recreation would like to keep costs lower;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Department of Parks and Recreation may apply for and accept a Capital Region Watershed District grant for a Rain Barrel Building Workshop in the amount of up to $1400.
