Granting Municipal Consent for the MnDOT project to reconstruct Robert Street from Annapolis Street to Kellogg Boulevard, including the reconstruction of the viaduct south of Cesar Chavez Boulevard (State Project No. S.P. 6217-50).
Body
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) plans to reconstruct Robert Street from Annapolis Street to Kellogg Boulevard, including the reconstruction of the viaduct south of Cesar Chavez Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, MnDOT has worked with City staff and conducted public "open house" meetings to address City safety concerns and have submitted a final layout to the City for review, comment and municipal consent; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 161.164 requires the City to hold a public hearing prior to providing municipal consent and provide a 30 day notice prior to holding the public hearing; and
WHEREAS, City Council published an intent to hold a public hearing in the Saint Paul Pioneer Press on July 9, 2025, then subsequently held a public hearing on August 13, 2025 as Council Agenda Item PH 25-3; and
WHEREAS, after receiving public input determined that the final layout addresses City safety concerns; now therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul grants municipal consent to the Minnesota Department of Transportation for the Robert Street reconstruction project (SP 6217-50).
