Authorizing the City Attorney's Office to accept a gift of $860.40 for airfare, lodging, meals and other transportation expenses for Therese Skarda to attend a mini summit conducted by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), June 27 - 28 in Rockland, New York, on Intelligence-Led Community Policing and Community Prosecution.

WHEREAS, the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) is conducting a mini summit to provide training on Intelligence-Led Community Policing and Community Prosecution on June 27th and 28th, 2011 in Rockland New York; and
WHEREAS, the IACP has invited the Deputy City Attorney, Therese Skarda to attend the mini summit; and
 
WHEREAS, the IACP will cover airfare, hotel, taxi or shuttle to the hotel, lunch in the amount of $860.40, as well as a daily per diem reimbursement for breakfast and dinner; now therefore be it
 
RESOLVED, that the City Council finds that the attendance at such training will assist in improving prosecution and community policing policies; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul accepts the gift of airfare, lodging, meals and other transportation expenses appropriates these to the intended use for Therese Skarda to attend the mini summit, and thanks the International Association of Chiefs of Police for its generous gift.
