Authorizing the Police Department to accept the donation of travel costs from NC4 for the Chief of Police to attend the 2017 Crime Fighting Symposium.
Body
WHEREAS, NC4 and its wholly owned subsidiary, The ESP Group, deliver safety and security solutions for the collection, management, sharing and the disseminating of information for governments and businesses; and
WHEREAS, the company will be sponsoring the 2017 Tampa Police Department Crime-Fighting Symposium, January 26 through January 29, 2017 where some of the subjects discussed will be intel-led policing, policing technologies, and discussions of crime fighting; and
WHEREAS, the Police Chief has been invited to attend this symposium where the costs of travel, air, lodging and meals will either be paid direct by NC4 or reimbursed to SPPD upon request according to its policy; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of the Chief’s participation in this event is to gain information that will benefit the Police Department’s operations management; and
WHEREAS, the SPPD would like to accept this unsolicited donation with an estimated value of $2,500 (two thousand five hundred dollars); and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this generous donation and extends its sincere thanks to NC4, 100 North Sepulveda Boulevard, El Segundo, CA 90245.
