Supporting Gary Fitch's Minnesota Miracle 300 mile walk to reduce hunger in Minnesota.

WHEREAS, hunger is a problem faced by many Minnesotans on a daily basis; and
WHEREAS, Gary Fitch has pledged to help ensure that all Minnesotans, especially children and the elderly, have the food and nourishment to allow them to grow and sustain strength in life; and
WHEREAS, Gary will walk 300 miles beginning in International Falls on August 2, 2014 and ending at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds on September 1, 2014, in support of the Minnesota Miracle Ending Hunger Fund, created through the Minnesota Philanthropy Foundation; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council encourages Saint Paul residents and those throughout Minnesota to support Gary's endeavor and the cause of ending hunger in Minnesota, and to welcome him when he arrives at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds on September 1, 2014; and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council commends Gary for his commitment to improving the health and welfare of all Minnesotans, and wishes him safe travels.
