Title
Amending Charter Section 6.08 relating to the adoption of ordinances and resolutions, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes § 410.12, subd. 7 (2012).
Body
The Council of the City of Saint Paul does Ordain:
Section 1.
      Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes § 410.12 subd. 7 (2012), on July 8, 2013, the Saint Paul Charter Commission recommended to the City of Saint Paul that certain charter amendments, as more fully stated below, be made by ordinance.  Public notice has been given and a public hearing has been held according to law.  The Council of the City of Saint Paul, by unanimous vote, hereby amends Charter Section 6.08 as follows:
Section 2.
Sec. 6.08. Signing, filing,  Adoption of ordinances and resolutions, presentation to mayor for approval or veto.
Every ordinance or resolution adopted by the council shall be presented to the mayor as soon as practicable, but not no later than five (5) business days after its passage, with a written or electronic communication that the measure is available for the mayor's approval or rejection veto. Within five (5) business days after presentation, the mayor shall either sign approve the measure or return it veto it and send a written or electronic communication to the council with a communication in writing stating the disapproval and the reasons therefor reason(s) for the veto. If the mayor neither signs nor vetoes the measure within five (5) business days, it shall be deemed approved.
Section 3.
This ordinance shall take effect ninety (90) days after passage, approval and publication.
