Amending the 2017 financing and spending budgets in the Department of Public Works Department, Sewer Utility, for the Private Sewer Connection Program.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul provides its residents with the opportunity to take advantage of the Private Sewer Connection Assessment Program to finance repairs of an existing sanitary sewer service, replacement of an abandoned or removed sanitary sewer services, disconnection of a rain leader and rerouting of private storm sewer service; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul pays the contractor for the repairs and these costs are then assessed to the property owners, which results in equal program revenue; and
WHEREAS, there is an increase of property owners that are taking advantage of this program; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available appropriation funds of $900,000 in excess of those estimated in the budget; so
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor that $900,000 is available for appropriation in the Public Works Sewer Utility Fund, as heretofore adopted and amended by this Council, be hereby further amended in the particulars as specified in the attached financial analysis.
