Approving the Mayor’s appointment of Hannah Hills, Emmanuel Donaby, and Tahnea Brown to the Capitol Area Vitality Task Force.

WHEREAS, during the 2023 Session of the Minnesota Legislature, SF3035/HF2427 was passed and signed Governor Tim Walz City establishing the Capitol Area Community Vitality Account, and
WHEREAS, the legislation creating the Capitol Area Community Vitality Account established the Capitol Area Community Vitality Task Force to consider and develop recommendations for the administration, program plan, and oversight of the Capitol Area community vitality account, and
WHEREAS, the Capitol Area Community Vitality Task Force is to issue a report with its recommendations no later than February 1, 2024, and
WHEREAS, under this legislation the Capitol Area Community Vitality Task Force has eleven members, four of which must be residents, businesspeople, or members of local organizations in the Capitol Area, appointed by the mayor of St. Paul, and
WHEREAS, Mayor Carter wishes to appoint Hannah Hills, resident of the Capitol Heights neighborhood and member of the Capitol Area Architectural Planning Board; Emmanuel Donaby of Saint Paul City School elementary and high school located within the Capitol Area boundaries; and Tahnea Brown of Christ on Capitol Hill church located within the Capitol Area boundaries to the Capitol Area Community Vitality Task Force, and
WHEREAS, Mayor Carter will appoint a fourth member to the Capitol Area Community Vitality Task Force before the group convenes on or around August 15; therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council approves Mayor Carter’s appointment of Hannah Hills, Emmanuel Donaby, and Tahnea Brown to the Capitol Area Vitality Task Force.
