Amending the 1981 Indian Mounds Regional Park Master Plan.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Department of Parks and Recreation has determined the need to update the Indian Mounds Regional Park portion of the Battle Creek Regional Park Master Plan that was created and approved by the City Council in 1981; and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Department of Parks and Recreation organized a design task force consisting of representatives from Friends of Mounds Park, District 4, Friends of the Mississippi River, Friends of Parks and Trails, Lower Phalen Creek Group, and other interested community members, to assist the Design Team with the development of the amendment to the Metropolitan Council approved Master Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Indian Mounds Regional Park Design Task Force recommended approval of the Master Plan Amendment on March 24, 2011 with the understanding that there will be additional Design Task Force input opportunities as implementation of key elements are funded; and
WHEREAS, the District 4 Community Council approved the Master Plan Amendment on April 18, 2011; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Parks Commission approved the Master Plan Amendment on May 11, 2011; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul approves and adopts the Indian Mounds Regional Park Master Plan Amendment and is hereby authorized to submit said master plan amendment to the Metropolitan Council for review and approval.
