Accepting the gift of airfare, lodging, and meals from the National League of Cities/American Planning Association, for Jonathan Sage-Martinson, Director, and Donna Drummond, Planning Administrator, of the Department of Planning and Economic Development, to attend a National League of Cities/American Planning Association event titled the Prosperity Playbook Community of Practice Fourth Convening meeting in Washington, D.C. on September 24, 25 and 26, 2017.

WHEREAS, the Prosperity Playbook Community of Practice Meeting will convene in Washington, D.C. on September 24, 25 and 26, 2017; and
WHEREAS, the National League of Cities/American Planning Association has specifically extended an invitation to Jonathan Sage-Martinson and Donna Drummond, as leaders on policy issues related to economic mobility and housing affordability, and
WHEREAS, the National League of Cities/American Planning Association has offered to pay a stipend of $1,000 each to pay some travel, lodging and meal costs associated with Jonathan Sage-Martinson’s and Donna Drummond’s attendance; and
WHERES, the City of Saint Paul believes that having Mr. Sage-Martinson and Ms. Drummond attend the Prosperity Playbook Community Meeting will be beneficial to the City and it serves a public purpose;
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved, that the City Council hereby accepts the gift of $2000 to cover airfare, lodging and some meal expenses of Mr. Sage-Martinson and Ms. Drummond for the Prosperity Playbook Community of Practice meeting and thanks the National League of City for its generous gift.
