WHEREAS, Cities Connecting Children to Nature (CCCN) is an initiative of the National League of Cities’ Youth, Education, and Families and the Children & Nature Network, and;
WHEREAS, CCCN hosts an annual Systems Change Roundtable to convene representatives from more than twenty cities along with national partners, and to affirm and accelerate policy advances for connecting children to nature more equitably, and;
WHEREAS, Mary Henke-Haney has been invited to represent the City of Saint Paul at the 2020 CCCN Systems Change Roundtable in Washington, DC on March 10, 2020; and
WHEREAS, National League of Cities has offered to cover the travel expenses, lodging and meals for Mary Henke-Haney to attend the roundtable; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul finds that attendance at this convening is beneficial to the City by providing an opportunity for participants to engage in sessions to develop expertise, obtain practical knowledge, and to develop a professional network; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift of travel expenses, lodging and meals for Mary Henke-Haney to attend the Cities Connecting Children to Nature Systems Change Roundtable and thanks National League of Cities for its generous gift.
