Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to attend events hosted by Lancer Hospitality and Como Friends and to accept their donation of refreshments and services.
Body
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Parks and Recreation has contractual relationships with Lancer Hospitality (Lancer) and the Como Friends (Friends) related to the operation of the Como Campus; and
WHEREAS, City staff work closely with the staff of both organizations on a daily basis in order to accomplish the seamless provision of services at Como Park Zoo and Conservatory; and
WHEREAS, on a limited number of occurrences during 2011, City staff will be invited to participate in events, such as the annual staff gathering and Como Town "friends and family" night, that are facilitated by Lancer and/or the Friends in which food, beverage, and entertainment is provided as an integral part of the event, the cost of which is borne by Lancer or the Friends; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of these events are to: build upon existing working relationships and develop new relationships among individual staff groups, demonstrate appreciation for the ongoing cooperation, and recognize Campus-wide achievements and establish new goals; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that Saint Paul Parks and Recreation staff are authorized to attend/participate in relationship building, appreciation, and recognition events hosted by Lancer Hospitality and the Como Friends and accept their donation of refreshments and services.
