Authorizing the Police Department to accept the donation of ammunition for training purposes only.
Body
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety has indicated that the Saint Paul Police Department may receive a donation of ammunition for officer training purposes only; and
WHEREAS, the donated ammunition will allow the department to increase its critical firearms training capacity without additional costs and augment the already required proficiency training for officers; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Department recommends that the donation be accepted to use for required officer training.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes the Saint Paul Police Department to accept the donation of ammunition for officer training from the DLA Disposition Services, Law Enforcement Support Office, as administered by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.
