Amending the 2025 Public Works Engineering Fund Survey Section budget to reallocate budgeted amounts within spending accounts for the maintenance and upgrade of the public website in order to better align with actual spending needs, in the amount of $20,000.
Body
WHEREAS, the Public Works Engineering Survey Section maintains the official external website for public survey information throughout the city of Saint Paul, and
WHEREAS, due to obsolete hardware, online functions are limited, and website performance suffers. Furthermore, software updates are inaccessible, and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Engineering Fund Survey Section has identified a need to rebuild the website, and
WHEREAS, the Survey Section accounting unit incurs costs to rebuild the website that are more than the adopted budget; and
WHEREAS, actual spending in 2025 salaries is less than their budgeted amount which is enough to cover the above costs; therefore via
ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER, consistent with the authority granted to the Mayor in Section 10.07.4 of the City Charter, and on the request of the Director of the Public Works Department to amend the 2025 budget in the Public Works Survey Section Projects accounting unit, the Office of Financial Services is authorized to amend said budget in the manner as specified in the attached financial analysis.
