Title
Amending the financing and spending plans in the General Government and Fire Departments in the amount of $38,583, to properly allocate paid parental leave spending.
Body
WHEREAS, Saint Paul began offering employees paid parental leave starting in 2015; and
WHEREAS, the 2016 budget included additional funding in the general government accounts budget to accommodate potential increased salary costs related to the new parental leave benefit; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department expended $38,583 in costs related to Saint Paul’s paid parental leave policy; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.4 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul does certify that there are available for transfer of appropriation funds of $38,583; now
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor, that $38,583 is available for transfer of appropriation in the 2016 budget, as heretofore adopted and amended by this Council, be hereby amended in the particulars as specified in the attached financial analysis.
