Amending the 2024 budget by adding a $25,000 donation to the Police Department (“SPPD”) from the Saint Paul Police Foundation (“SPPF”), made possible by a grant from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation.

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation (“SPPF”) has donated $25,000 to the City of Saint Paul, Police Department; and

WHEREAS, this donation was accepted was accepted by the council in RES PH 23-371;

WHEREAS, the SPPD’s programs working with youth (Explorers, Police Activities League, Junior Police Academy, Rec Check); and

WHEREAS, a 2024 financing and spending plan needs to be established; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $10,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2024 budget and recommends the following changes; and

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that council authorizes the City of Saint Paul to approve these changes to the 2024 budget.
